The Arc is proud to be, along with the East Central Alabama United Cerebral Palsy Center, a beneficiary of The Anniston Runners Club’s Woodstock Run.

Anniston Runners Club members have donated half of the proceeds from this continually growing event to The Arc’s Special Olympics programs for the past four years of its 32 plus year history. (A special note of thanks to Anniston Police Sgt. Steve Dotson for introducing his fellow ARC members to the needs of The Arc and Special Olympics through his long term involvement in the Alabama Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics).

Arc staff, supporters and consumers alike take part in the Woodstock 5K both as runners and volunteers. Each year consumers are chosen to represent The Arc and Special Olympics  by running with the Special Olympics torch from our chapter during the run.  We appreciate how members of the Runners Club have included Arc folks even as the race has grown to become a Road Runners Club of America National 5K Race!

The Woodstock 5K takes place the first Saturday of every August and is open to the public. For more information about the race or the Anniston Runners Club, click on the top link or send an email to woodstock5k@annistonrunners.com .
