Current Fundraisers

The Lip Sync Battle

Each August on the Saturday before the first college football game, we host a FUN fundraiser “The Lip Sync Battle” . Friends, consumers and business, civic and community groups are invited in to compete in a two-act American Idol- like competition in which they perform twice lip-synching to songs of their choosing! Contestants are eligible to win one of three awards The Judges Award, The Audience Award and the “Put-Your-Money-Where-Your-Mouth-Is” Fundraising Award”

We would really love to have groups such as our local police , churches, school drama groups, etc. challenge each other to battle it out for the prize.

Invidious can help in one of three ways,

  1. Performer (entry fee $25)
  2. Event Sponsor (sponsorships range from $26 to $1,000 levels)
  3. Audience Member (entry tickets are $5 and $3, vote tickets are $1 each)

The Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive

Held each October on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday of Columbus Day Weekend, this fundraiser is hosted by the Knights of Columbus Chapters o Sacred Heard  Catholic Church in Anniston and St. Charles 0 Borromeo Catholic Church in Jacksonville

Participants are asked to stand at one of the participating stores in Calhoun County for two hour shifts exchanging Tootsie Rolls for donations to The Arc.  School and Community groups are encouraged to sign up for shifts in order to earn community credit.  The list of locations for the annual event will be available at the end of each September. The Donor Derby

Overview

There’s nothing like a little healthy competition to get people excited to participate and support the programs of The Arc.

Here’s how it works: We have five specific projects we’d like to get funded for the 2021 fiscal year. (Special Olympics, Fit Friends, Day Camps, Life Skills Job Readiness, Art Class) ($3,000). We are challenging donors to give to their favorite project! The “race” is to see which project gets fully funded first.

The winning board team and people who donated to the winning project, will get a Free Donor Dash Commemorative Medallion. Others that donated will receive a Donor Dash Certificate.
