Sponsors and Community Support Help Make Special Olympics Games a Success!
March 17, 2017
We would like to express our appreciation to all the volunteers who assisted in making the 2017 Special Olympics Calhoun/Cleburne Athletics Events possible!

This year's event had 178 athletes register to compete in the track and field events held at the city of Anniston's Youth Sports Complex at McClellan.

In addition to all our wonderful sponsors pictured, we would like to thank staff and volunteers from Jacksonville State University's Athletics Department,  The City of Anniston's Parks and Recreation Department and The City of Jacksonville's Parks and Recreation Department for assisting us in the the running of the games. and the staff of the local offices of the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services and Children's Rehabilitation Services for staffing the ribbon tables and to members of Jacksonville State University's Student Council for Exceptional Children and  The Arc Parent/Guardian Support Group for  assisting in the creation and distribution of lunches for athletes, coaches and volunteers. Several  members of The Arc's board of directors also volunteered their time to assist where ever needed.

As always we would like to thank the 200 plus volunteers from school systems across Calhoun and Cleburne  Counties for serving as buddies for our athletes.
