Time to do the Tootsie Roll (Drive) Again!
October 7, 2016
The signs of fall in Anniston, Alabama; leaves turning colors, temperatures cooling to the 70’s (at least overnight) and people in bright yellow aprons standing at local supermarkets and discount stores.
The people in yellow aprons are of course part of the annual Knights of Columbus Drive to Benefit People with Intellectual Disabilities, an effort better known as the KoC Tootsie Roll Drive.
This year’s drive, again sponsored by  the Joseph J. Burn Council #3227 of Anniston and the St. Charles Borromeo Jacksonville State University Council #13513 of Jacksonville, will take place on Columbus Day weekend, October 8, 9 and 10.
The fundraiser will be manned by local high school students, civic club members, and other individuals who support the work of The Arc.
Volunteers will exchange Tootsie Roll® candies to passersby in exchange for monetary donations of any size.
Proceeds from the event will go to support The Arc’s Knights' Camp for children with I/DD and other therapeutic recreational programs.
We value our almost 40-year association with the Knights and appreciate their continued commitment to the children we serve!
