It was a night made of music and laughs.

Twenty-eight performers, host Jon Garlick, judges Chris O'Rear, Doris Cooley and Mike Carter,  DJ/Sound engineer Lee Baughn, light engineer, George Mitchell, and spotlight operator David Montgomery, a host of volunteers made up of The Arc's consumers, board members and parent guardians and, of course, a great responsive audience all combined August 20 to make The Arc's Lip Sync Battle a fun and successful evening.

The members of the group "Stiff Upper Lip",Cotina Houston Stroud, Courtney Stroud, Renea Reese,  Marreo Thomas and Alysia Pace, pulled the Ike and Tina Turner  "Proud Mary" card to edge out the "Wicked" mother and daughter duo of Linda and Rebecca Hearn (Second Place) and the Kriss-Krossed Pokemon Hunting Duo of Clay Kimbrell and Jon Bostic, of Bethel Church of Helfin (Third Place) to win the Judge's Choice Award for the evening.

Stiff Upper Lip and the Hearns again took home first and second place in the Audience Favorite category, with The Sassy Sisters", other wise known as  Kylee Wright, Kelsey Day, Hope Melvin, Gracie Suggs, and Jill Gaines of Oxford High School's Thespian Club taking third place in this category.

The group "California Lovin", or Christa Morphis, Kathrine Knight
and Ashley Sanders, won the "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is" award for being the group which raised the most donations for the fundraiser prior to the event.

Four other acts,  “Divalicious”, a.k.a., Trinity Storey, Lydia Heath, Gracie Benefield, Samatha Clark and Christian Tims, and “Modern Day Misfits” or Brittney Hutchins, Will Smith, Whitney Thornton, Madi Bean, and Makenzi Venagas, both of OHS' Thespian Club; Troy Crosson and Aaron Crosson of the Circuit Riders Cowboy Church and Jasmine Beaudette participated in the fundraiser.

Overall, the night raised over $5,000 for The Arc's programs, with additional funds being promised. 

Several individuals and businesses made donations to sponsor the event, including Acker Electric Company, Aaron & Debbie Acker, Robert & Kathy Elliott and Kim & Jay Jenkins, Donor Level Sponsors; Anne’s Can’s,B.R. The City of Oxford provided the performance space, Melonie Jones provided photography services, The Supply Room donated materials, People's First of Calhoun and Cleburne Counties members staffed the concession stand and Mahaley Tucker and Cory Van Ekris of CAST's upcoming production of THE ADDAMS FAMILY provided entertainment.
